We want to be fully up front with our readers as we feel it’s important and it’s just the right thing to do. Sometimes when we talk about or mention a product or service, we’ll use an affiliate link. If you follow an affiliate link and go on to purchase that product or service, we’ll be paid a small commission, however your cost will be the same (and quite possibly less if we’re highlighting a promotion).
So naturally there is the question of if we’re mentioning this product/service just to make money, or if we’re recommending it because we feel it’s in the best interest of our readers? If we’re presenting a review of a product, we have used it personally. If we just mention the product/service (like a list of some cool science kits we’ve found) we may not have used it, but we think you might like it.
So we won’t recommend a product unless we’ve used it personally, and genuinely like it.
Affiliate links are one of the ways we get paid for working on this blog. If you’ve ever blogged, you’ll know it can take quite a lot of effort. It also allows us to produce the freebies that we, well, give away for free. If you find the information and goodies on our blog to be useful, we would appreciate your support by using the affiliate links on the site rather than going directly to the source.
Thanks in advance!
